ACBSP stands for the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs. ACBSP was founded in 1988 and is a specialized accrediting agency that emphasizes quality in teaching and learning outcomes. The specialized function of ACBSP focuses on business schools and programs within colleges and universities that have already received institutional accreditation. As a specialized agency, ACBSP's criteria and process to implement a separate accreditation in accounting was approved by the Board of Commissioners in November 2007, and as of August 2008, there were 585 member institutions in various countries around the world, 413 of which received official accreditation.
