Tuition for full-time in-state MBA students in 2009 ranges from about $3,500 to over $50,000 (international students often, but not always, pay more).
Tuition fees are not uniform: some MBA programs in the US with high international rankings charge accordingly higher tuition. As well, the kind of institution it is (public versus private) and whether you are an in-state or out-of-state student will also play a role in program cost.
Adding to the confusion, MBAs come in many types: Two-Year MBA, One- Year MBA (Accelerated MBA), Part-Time MBA, Executive MBA, Specialized MBA, Global MBA, Custom or Corporate MBA, Online MBA, Distance Education MBA and Advanced MBA (or Dual Degree MBA). These different MBA programs may have different tuition costs.
