The Foundation Module consists of the core courses taken by all MBA students. It provides a general, but critical, knowledge of business functions in the twenty-first century. Students study accounting, finance, business policy and strategy, information systems, marketing and operations, technology and innovation management, and the critical role that managers play in multinational organizations.
MBA programs approach the delivery of the Foundation Module (core courses) in two ways. In one, subjects are taught individually over a 13-week semester. Integration is achieved through informal coordination of the course material across the various instructors. In the other, the core courses are taught as an integrated block with class lectures incorporating content from multiple business areas, team teaching and integrated assignments and projects.
