In general MBA students come from a wide range of backgrounds, including medicine and allied health professions, national and local government, NGOs, the voluntary sector, policy, social science and international relations.
There really is no such thing as a "typical" MBA or MBA student. With a global diversity of business schools, there are millions of MBAs who represent different nationalities and cultures.
Moreover, there is no perfect undergraduate major, set of academic achievements, pre-MBA work experience and extracurricular accomplishments, essays, interviews, or references that define an MBA student. Nor is there a common career goal or industry in which MBA candidates aspire to work. What MBA students have in common is motivation, self-knowledge, realistic career goals, and a desire to learn and grow.
